135-Year-Old Party on Ventilator

dhillongagan2008

India's oldest political party is fighting a battle for its survival and existence. The Indian National Congress is in one of its darkest phases. Open revolt within the party first in Madhya Pradesh and now in Rajasthan are examples of crisis within the party. The 135-year-old national party is on ventilator and young leaders from the party have started revolting against it.

Change is the law of nature, and the youth are always in search for a better placement. This is particularly true for those who are intelligent, hardworking and progressive by nature; who have the urge to deliver and a zeal to do something good for the weaker sections of the society irrespective of their caste, creed, colour or religion.

Such people sometimes feel and visualise permanent obstructions all around them but are unable to feel any tangible solution to these hurdles. During such times, the victim finds it more suitable to leave the hazardous surroundings and come out of the failed atmosphere. He or she seeks a progressive, developmental and result-oriented environment of politics, and tries to enter it for the betterment and overall development of his or her constituency.

If such a person is an elected public representative, she or he feels that the voters have trusted her/him while exercising their franchise. The person feels that it is her/his duty to do something good for the voters. Therefore, whenever such elected leaders feel that another party offers better prospects for development of their constituency, they are well within their rights to switch to the other party in order to walk on the path of peace and progress. To serve the nation and prove their mettle.

I wish them a bright future. As per my opinion, young and dynamic leaders of the Congress are well within their rights to quit their party and join an alternative party to exercise their talents and work for the country's development. The entire Congress party seems to have turned into a circus for the entertainment of a single family. In fact, why not add the word 'Parivaar' to the party's name?
